I'm not really too much of a fan - he seems a bit more open to influence than his father and has openly made some pretty ignorant/arrogant comments and many of his stances are pretty standard-bearer Republican. To your point however - I do understand that on both the left and right any new introduction to the establishment needs their influence tempered by media fueled "dirt" just in case they get any smart ideas.
