Rastafari Speaks

LIberian women who brought peace to Liberia *LINK*

Greetings,

This film was shown on UK TV recently. Documenting the Liberian womens peace movement made up of the unity of Muslim and Christian women in their thousands who DEMANDED peace come to their land after decades of horror and warfare, rape and bloodshed.

Their courageous actions are recorded here, and it's not been so widely publicised that is was these woemn who did actually bring about the peace to Liberia and also the election of Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf as President.

If you can see this film, whilst I found the ending a little rushed, ie. it never fully explains how after the peace was agreed and an interim Govt in place, how Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf came to power, but otherwise a very enlightening and inspiring film showing the strength and power of African women united.

Love and Raspect
