One of the major causes of problems in Africa is Western 'investments'. The history of Western investments in Africa shows constant political manipulations in pursuit of exclusively Western economic interests. Western government interference instigates a perpetual state of war as groups are armed to secure natural resources for Western corporations. The West strong-arms extremely unfair trade deals; they subsidize their agricultural sector while demanding that African nations not do the same, thereby making Western-sourced produce appear less expensive than produce developed in Africa. They have also made deals whereby African nations must not develop downstream industries from their raw material; they must remain suppliers of raw materials to European nations.
I can go with this … but my main point is for a long time Africa has Western 'investments' but when a country is pauperized (usually by Western powers) they can get them to make all sorts of deals that are not in the interest of their people.
