Re: What does "Africa for Africans" mean to you?

A lesson I learned early on was that a dog's perception of what existed on Earth was not the same as that of a human being. In time, as I got older and became exposed to more sources of knowledge, I found out that in fact, the various individual species of stones, plants, insects, fish, bird and animals all had thier own unique ways of percieving what existed on Earth.

The first hint of this fact (like I said above) was to do with dogs and humans. I was aged around 12 when one of my uncles told me that he knew of procedures a person could follow, things that a person could eat and do, if he/she wanted to see the Earth as a dog saw the Earth. He said, "you will see the things that make dogs howl at night." He also said that the reason a lot of people did not try out these procedures was because there was a rule attached and that if one broke the rule, one would die. The rule was that regardless of what you saw, you could not show suprise or fear.

I have asked the question because I am interested in learning from other people what they see in their mind's eye when the saying "Africa for Africans...." passes through their consciousness. What do Africans see? What do non-Africans see? What do Africans think non-Africans see? and, what do non-Africans think Africans see?

Do you think we all see the same thing?
