... and thank you for your post full of INSIGHT. Long overdue! I wish every black person would read this, or think about it, including all "Garvey Rastas" and every one "Selassie Rasta" ... Yes, it's most times an identity complex/crisis that most of us are trapped in, (speaking from my own experience), and so we always try to find that “invisible” connection -- (and cling) -- to things that never really clearly define us or what we are … whatever “we” may be!
Sometimes, I wonder how many “Selassie Rastas” we would have if Selassie were a ‘full-blooded black Afrikan’ or with skin as dark as tar, full ‘Negroid lips’, ‘Afrikan nose’ ... you name it!! …
SERIOUSLY, HOW MANY WOULD THERE BE??
