i think Ayinde(and he can correct me if I am wrong) was referring to the content of our character and not our biological ancestry. i'm thinking you got confused because of your lack of understanding of the different english words.
"decency" is a different word from "descent" - Ayinde was demonstrating a play on words.
decency means "the quality of conforming to standards of propriety and morality"
descent means "origin: properties attributable to your ancestry"
