This in response to the message that Jamaican Rastas differ from American Rastas. Firstly as Rastafarians we burn divisions between Rastafarians based on nationality. We overstand that America and these islands were and to some degree remain plantations. How could we turn from Afrikans/Ethiopians into Jamaicans and African-Americans? Secondly, as far as the statement that Jamaican Rastas have no racial problems, even a brief knowledge of Jamaican history will teach that race was and remains an issue. Just look at who makes up the elite in Jamaica and tell me Jamaica has no racial problems. Thirdly as Rastafarians we know that Afrika/Ethiopia is the best place on earth not Jamaica. Afrika is our inheritance and how could we ever choose an island over a continent. A full overstanding of Rastafari means a deep overstanding that Rastafari is an Afrikan not a Jamaican philosophy
