Yes many see(or use) Rasta as something "Black Nationalist"... like BPP or so... I have nothing against that, but respect when not all Idren agree with that.
If I want BPP then I go to the BPP, if you know what I mean.... but Rasta TO ME is more and different.... it is divine and Iternal..."I'm sorry, but I think that everyone who is white who is 'called' to Rasta.has an absolute responsibility to be willing to struggle with themselves and each other on the issue of race. I too felt drawn to Rasta, but realized that is just not enough, it's only the beginning. You don't skip to Inivershal One Love without struggling with the real-life issues that keep humanity from realizing it.
And NO, it's not if 'I feel like BPP I go to BPP...this is so much about privilege, and how privileged ones feel they can decide what to pay attention to and what to ignore. It's a pretty neat trick to choose to ignore the very origins of the modern Rasta movement, a movement by black people for black people for the upliftment of black people. Without that, what you got? Christianity, pretty much.
It is simply not 'everything is everything'-and it is absolutely basic RESPECT to come to Rasta ready to reason with blacks on race.
