AZT & Protease Inhibitors
The use of aggressive methods of treating AIDS by using drugs like AZT and protease inhibitors cannot reverse the AIDS syndrome because they promote the same conditions that led to the problem. They depress the immune system and damage body enzymes, which are responsible for the generation of life itself.

These chemicals used as magic bullets against a hypothetical causative agent (believed by some to be a retro-virus) are responsible for damage to the individual that is greater than the disease itself. This could be compared to killing a mosquito using a shotgun.

The most well known treatment for AIDS and HIV is Retrovir, also known as AZT. It was the first drug to be approved for the treatment of AIDS and is usually used with other drugs in a treatment known as triple combination therapy.
