Re: rastas need to know the truth of the oromo peo

being that the oromo are the largest group of people in modern ethiopia it is a shame that rastas in general know so little about them and their history.most rastas i ask have never even heard of the oromo.i don't think anyone would try to defend what was done to the native people of north america and pass their struggle off as tribalism or fighting against christianity.is christianity better than anyone's indigeous religion and should they be forced to accept it.from the stealing of their land, killing off the population and oppressing their culture there are many similiarities between what was done to the north american native people and what was done to the oromo.much solid info has been presented on the oromo why are ones so reluctant to acknowledge the truth or to look further into the matter.he first step in fixing the problems is to acknowledge that they do exist now and for more than the last century.put oromo in your search engine, go to the library and check books on the oromo or talk to some oromo people who have not been amharaized and see if all the info presented above in the other posts is not the truth.rastas stand for truth and rights for all.it is truley shameful that rastas won't acknowledge the truth about the oromo especially when they want to live in shashamane which by the way is originally is part of oromo people's land.this is no disrespect of haile selassie but i have not been able to find any speech by him that even mentions the oromo or states any willingness to improve their plight.the following websites are a good start to learning about your african brothers the oromo. http://www.gumii.org http://www.voiceoforomiyaa.comn http://www.oromia.org http://www.oromiaonline.com
