What Lucas was trying to express was the poisonings of semetic/semi-thought. In other words, he was warning against hierarchal thinking.

Jedi worshiped +10 (light/positive side of the force (truth)
Sith worshiped -10 (dark/negative side of the force (truth)

EACH were arrogant and wrong in the end. It was the act of LOVE/HEALING that "brought BALANCE to the force". Remember Luke defied his masters because the Ma'atic powers of healing outweighed his 'teachings'.

Luke and Anakin proved Jedi and Sith BOTH wrong in their respective dogmas, each of which only highlighted semi-truths of the whole truth.
