It is also very useful to always call a spade a spade especially when your experience of the spade and the character of the spade never changes.
Another useful tool is a continuous pursuit of knowledge/truth because the shepherd continues to prove; through his use of propaganda and manipulation of facts, that he is the master of deceit.
For the vigilant, specious labels are irrelevant and 'guidance' comes from within.
