In Response To: Land Grant Agitation Needed Among Africans (ras marcus)

Greetings Baba,

While in principle I agree 100% with your reasoning, however, if one's looked at this idea of providing land grants from an indigenous African perception - there could be some animosity formed b/n the repatriates and the indigenous - solely based on the idea that repatriates are receiving something for "free" which someone who has lived there their entire life would have to pay for.

Until there is a complete paradigm shift in the economy and social dynamics of Africa, I am more apt to support the "buying" of land through the systems that are in place in each respective country.

If there are land grants, per se, I think that there should be some stipulation that the land being granted is going to be developed and used to create employment opportunities for both the repatriates and local community, during a specified time frame. For example if one is seeking an acre for farming - after a period of time, their needs to be a viable farm that is producing something.

Thanks for the continued teachment Baba!

Blessed Love
