To protect against fire during an earthquake, an automatic gas shut-off valve is mandatory in California's homes and businesses. But that only solves the problem at the destination of the gas; I am unaware of any automatic shut-off valve at the point of origin or for that matter along the course of its journey?
How old I wonder, are pipeline infrastructures around the globe?
How will we know when the planet is too warm? Will it be when methane, beneath the ocean, begins to spontaneously combust? How does one put out an ocean of fire?
