"literalism is Piffle"...my Pastor agrees with you and he and I do have some lively discussions on the matter. He is an interpreter of the Word but with a certain spiritual discernment which his is position as an elder. There have been many a time in Bible discussion where I have had to ask how did you arrive at that conclusion when all I can see is what is righten in front of my eyes, the literal.
But then he also says that the Revelation is just an allegory and that the streets are not actually paved with gold. I beg to differ.
Therein lies the difference I am visually orientated whilst he is a wordsmith, different points of view.As for bringing the Bible in on that spiral universe LINK well, it was not deliberate as I was looking for a science based site and NOT a biblical one. Anyway,I glossed ova the text being visually based, and posted it for the lovely pictures.
As for ancient people and the symbol of the spiral...well my dear I only have to go down to the sea shore and pick up a shell to trace its spiral shape as my ancestors have done since time long gone.
The spiral is the central theme of a great deal of my creative visual output.
"The Learned"....how capable are many of them of individual, original,(not having to present a bibliograhy of someones elses ideas who are someone elses ideas), intelligible let alone intelligent.can we say intelligent has its beginnings in observation...sitting on the seashore eating a meal of freshly plucked seafood, before tossing the shell into the midden, tracing its spiral shape with your finger and then tracing the same shape in the sand next to you...it continues on to what we now call civilization and sophistication but I do it yet, still, now.
Do you oh namesake of this beautiful spiral tasty fresh bounty of the erstwhile said oceans...saltwater from the depths?
