There was a brother who's name was Tacky, he organized and led Tacky's rebellion in the year 1760, which was 21 years after the Maroons as they call themselves, and the british signed the peace treaty. In that peace treaty the Maroons as they themselves, promised and agreed to resist any slave uprising in the Island of Jamaica on behalf of the british, and they did.
Tacky just could not convince himself that he should be a slave for anyone and so, he began to recruit those Africans who were conscious and serious enough to be a part of this uprising. Tacky who was from the Coromantee people, was able to recruit more than a thousand Africans, who were willing to take part in this rebellion.
Tacky who was from the Coromantee tribe in Ghana west Africa had leadership abilties, before he was abducted and taken to the slave plantations of the western world. Tacky planned was to take over Jamaica and make it into an African black country. The rebel-lion got started and continued for six months, and it was only after the people who called themselves the Maroons were called out,by their English friends, that a sharp shooting so called Maroon named Davy, shoot Tacky while chasing him. With Tacky their leader dead, his followers who were still alive, committed suicide, instead of allowing themselves to be captured and tortured.
In the event, 60 slave masters were killed and 600 Afican slaves were tortured and executed by the slave masters. This was just another event where the Maroons as they call themselves, betrayed their own African people in order to please the English slave masters. We are hoping that the following generation of these people, can clearly see what their great Ancestors have done to their African brothers and sisters, and can find the courage and self determination, to reject and despise the name Maroon, as a symbol or sign of repentance, and forgiveness for their Ancestors. It is the duty of the following generation to correct the mistakes which our Ancestors have made. lET US RESTORE OUR PEOPLE'S DIGNITY. Maroons NO NO NO.
COROMANTEE YES YES YES YES YES YES YES.
Take the best care of yourselves and your people
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African people everywhere.
ONE BLACK HEART ONE BLACK LOVE.
Baba Ras Marcus.
