Tafari Makonnen was made Governor on November Ist 1905 and was given the Title Dejazmatch which mean keeper of the door. His father Ras Makonnen, invited Him to come over to the main room and that was when all of this was done. He later assembled all of his workers and members of the Armed forces, and introduced them to Dejazmatch Tafari, telling them, this is my Son Tafari, and I am expecting you all to care for Him as I cared for you all, he is in the hands of the Creator, but you must also care for him, that no harm may come unto him. Some of his workers wept, saying that Ras Makonnen spoke as if he is going to past away soon enough.
Later he instructed them to assign a house to Dejazmatch Tafari, along with a tutor and administrator to help him with the work, his grand mother Wayzaro Wallata Giyorgis, was also there to help him with the work. In less than 6 months later on the 21st of March 1906, his father Ras Makonnen died and was buried in the church yard of St. Michael in Harar, which was founded by Ras Makonnen himself.
After the burial of his father, a letter came to the officers from Emperor Menelik saying, come at once with Tafari, for it is here before me that the 40 day Memorial for Ras Makonnen will be held. So, it is very clear that Tafari had thousands of followers even before he was Crowned King of Kings.
In the year 1916, Dejazmatch Tafari was promoted to the title Ras, so he was then known as Ras Tafari, because he became the Crown Prince of the Ethiopian Throne, while Empress Zauditu, was sitting on the Throne as Empress of Ethiopia. That same year 1916, Marcus Garvey who had written to Booker T. Washington requesting that they meet and talk about the conditions under which black people were living everywhere, recieved a reply aggreeing for them to meet in USA. But before Marcus Garvey left Jamaica for the USA, he assembled his people, and told them, that Ras Tafari is expected to be Crowned in the future, as Emperor of Ethiopia, and that they as black people should look forward to him as their leader. The pictures of him being Crown Prince were also visible for his followers to see, so, the seeds of Ras Tafari as a Black leader were planted in Jamaica as early as 1916 or before, so Ras Tafari had followers in Jamaica, from the very early days, although they were not widely advertised. So, the seeds of the Rastafari movemant were planted in the very early days, and when Howell came back to Jamaica in 1932, he was good enough to water the seeds of Rastafari and his movemant, which were already planted by other African liberators who came before him.
I am a Iyagel who speak with Iverstanding, and as a result, I will not address the crazyness of your talk about semantics, because I am here to teach not to get into disrespectful cult battles, like unto those which you all have in your classrooms, where you battle for supremacy, I am an African teacher, teaching about Africans Affairs and our living conditions, but you do not have to attend my classes if you think that you are too educated in the white people's ways, to learn from your black teacher.
You already said that you do not want your children to be Sodomites, because you need grand children, so, why are you supporting Sodomites, because you want other people's children to become Sodomites? Why? Why? Why?
Please be advised, that true Rastafari people are interested in the good minds and good attitudes of people, a persons good attitudes can be their best friend, but a persons bad attitudes can be their worst enemy. If you humble yourself and use some humble-standing you may be able to learn some things, which you really do not know.
There is really no true Rastafari person that I know, who would give the kind of support to Sodomites, which you are going out of your way of truth and rights to give to them. Slow down just a little and think about your attitudes, are they your best friend, or are they your worst enemy?
Take the best care of yourself and your people.
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African people everywhere.
ONE BLACK HEART ONE BLACK LOVE.
Baba Ras Marcus.
