am at a UN conference on Gender, Girls, Women & HIV and just spoke with a spokesperson from the Zim Ministry of Health..and although this info may already be known by some I was surprised that during his presentation he mentioned statistics that suggest that 91% of women are literate in Zim, which is obviously one of the highest rates of literacy in all of Africa.
I was most impressed however when discussions ensued about sustainability of ARV and other HIV related programs; Zim is the only country in Africa who have a "tax levy" to make funding sustainable for HIV programs in the country
