Rastafari Speaks

Re: ma'ater
In Response To: Re: ma'ater ()

When exactly was 'the dawn of history'? Should that not read 'his-story.' - I can't help but feel that Mr. Mackenzie is of the school of thought that 'civilisation flowed DOWN the river Nile.' He speaks of numerous cultures coming INTO Afrika and being adopted by the people there. Perhaps that is true since we in deepest Afrika have also adopted much of supposedly Western ways. Why does he say the oldest of the Egyptian beliefs were 'CRUDE and ARCHAIC?'

What of the possibility that even places as far removed as Asia were born in Africa. I've heard it said that the first Chinese were the Black people of Afrika today called Pygmies, Khoi-Khoi, San, Bushmen, etc.

What about transmigration? Is the suggestion that even I whom am living today and therefore have a soul may one day be possesed by the soul of my father (and therefore have 2 souls) when he passes on? In Afrika the culture says that a one INHERITS the position or role of his/her parent but not to the literal extent of being 'husband to his mother'; only in name and some of the duties. One would still keep their own personality!

The herd of pigs concept is interesting. I remember one story from the Bible where Jes-us drove an evil spirit out of a man and into a herd of pigs which then rushed into the sea.

Have you ever heard of the story of Solomon and Sheba? In it the queen is supposed to have abandoned her native country's worship of the sun, etc. to follow Solomon's God.

In my view the similarities between all the different races systems of worship is interesting and perhaps points to there being one universal religion.

Also I think the concept of the Egyptians being polytheist is a mis-interpretation. It has been suggested to me that the 'pantheon' of Gods was simply a metaphoric system which made clear to the students the different QUALITIES of the Supreme Being.

p.s. I still haven't read the other posts.

Bless.
