The African-Americans on the OJ jury were deemed ignorant because they weren't convinced of the infallibility of DNA evidence; essentially J.C. had done his job and planted a reasonable doubt in the reasonable minds of the jurors.
For this they were maligned by the press and their sagacity questioned by the overly emotional minded, gullible white and pseudo-black American public.
