Since when are people required ...
... to "introduce themselves" to this site? Where in the terms and conditions does it state that people must "introduce themselves"?
Anyway I don't recall you "introducing yourself" when you first came on here... correct me if I am wrong, but I just remember you blathering about how immigrants were gonna take your job, and Alice Walker shouldn't have written "the colour purple" because it cast Black males in a bad light, etc etc.
You know on that other thread I said what I thought was the crux of the problem I had with you... I've realised it's NOT really that... that's just "different strokes for different folks"... apart from the sarcastic belittling of freedom fighters like Mumia, and your ingnorant and offensive remarks regarding my country, where people are suffering more than your pampered yankee butt could even begin to imagine... but that's not even the real issue... the real issue is that you're such a COMPLETE HYPOCRITE. *YOU* behave in *EXACTLY* the same way you accuse others of behaving!!! Can you not see this? If not, I'll be happy to point out some particularly blatant examples, but time doesn't permit now.
Re the subject of the thread, I have no problem with Black cowboys, I do have a problem with the Buffalo Soldiers, though they weren't given much choice in the matter (and there were also Amerindian slave-catchers and bounty hunters, let's not forget)... but yes that is an embarrassing part of the history to I... doesn't mean it shouldn't be told though.
If Disciple thinks "cowboys" necessarily fought "indians" based on the movies he saw as a youngster, he might be interested in visiting the southern part of Guyana, the Rupununi, where the cowboys *ARE* Amerindians, and they have rodeos and all.
