Why do you think it will never change?
I think it will change; I think that in the future (which is up to us to build) no one will feel themselves to be, or be treated as, inferior or superior based on the shade of their skin.
Hashing out these issues is necessary if we want to reach that kind of future. Acknowledging the effects of color/shade prejudice alongside racism, sexism, ageism and all of babylon's isms, is necessary. In order to demolish something, you first have to identify it and analyze it.
Some say it's divisive to talk about these things, but I disagree: in order to overcome divisions, the first thing you have to do is recognize that divisions do exist, and analyze what they are, how they got there, etc., otherwise you would not be able to overcome them and they might still be trapping you even when you *think* you have overcome them.
