and in answer to your question i have been spectacularly busy.

And in what i belive will be a shock to you, i actually think that this is entirely plausible. At least some of the research that i have looked at seems to indicate that melanin has effects (by design or otherwise) that extend beyond the whole vitamin d synthesis/ skin protection system.

Could it mean that black people have an edge when it comes to thinking, for example? Of course, though it would take a particularly clever bot of research to be at least resonably certain. I would actually think that it was great if this turned out to be true. Can you imagine how much it would shake things up!

The qustion is one of to what extent does it make a difference, and to whom?

But otherwise, like I said, it sounds reasonable. I have tremendous respect for biologically based rationales for things that have some experimental basis. For example, the fact that there is generally more genetic diversity in a small african town than you will find in whole european nations is both profoundly interesting, and powerful.

I just dont like psychoanlysis (for example) or ideas that are presented as if they were fact when what they really are is theory, and that includes when i catch myself doing the same thing. What matters to me is the process of arriving at something close to the truth. No fear, no favour.
