You said : "To I, black is beautiful in all its shades...
This is where u and I differ...
Love one to forsake the other?
Self hatred is running rampant.."
What have you seen in what I posted about 'beauty'? Beauty is not an issue here. I have relatives who are black, brown and what we call 'yellow'. Beauty is beauty, it is an individual judgement. I am talking about the collective self-image that Africans have. What are the ICONS of African self-hood?
Differentiate between talk on physical representation and the spirit's orientation. I have learnt from people of all origins, there is no barrier to the mind, however, we must also have a sense of what we are that is independent of all influences. We have to OWN our perspective on reality.
Too many of us, regardless of how black we are, are so involved in seeing the world through 'white' eyes that we do not seem to realise that the world 'white' eyes see is not the only world that exists.
Which may be why BIG WORDS like love/hate means one thing to some and another thing to others.
Wisdom and Strength.
