In Response To: Re: THE BOOK OF THE DEAD DOES NOT CLAIM THE LINE O (rob_afreeka)

You do not let the other concepts that I have brought forth enter your mind so therefore you are stuck in a circular reasoning. Why doubt? - because I am a human being with the power to use my mind to discern what is truth and what is not. The Most High in my journey has never been about me closing down my ability to think, to question in the quest to KNOW rather than be-lie-ve. Whether you want to accept it or not - all you are doing is accepting the same exoteric Western Christian thinking of god as a man in the sky but instead you have placed him on earth in the person of Haile Selassie. So therefore that means that Haile Selassie must stand for this ridiculous concept of "god" that you have (been)programmed yourself to accept, one which I have spent my life rebelling against. The Most High has never meant to me becoming blind to the essence that defies a linear logic of thinking, never meant I have to shut down my ability to critically examine and seeing INTO and passed and through, up, down, left, right and in between to reveal truths which only come through a process of refinement. I know there are two things – the observer and what is being observed and that the two coming together is what creates the level of reality we function on – it allows I to see Haile Selassie existing within an established system/framework political-religious-social institution, but not having that CONFINE what he represents to I –as you seem to be implying with the Judeo-Christian coffin you have put Haile Selassie in and insist others follow. Now if the appearance of Haile Selassie is representative of the ALL-MIGHTY in the context of African people coming into themselves in the diaspora, then the right remains to question all institutions, paradigms(INCLUDING JUDEO-CHRISTIANITY), etc. which have robbed these ones of their humanity, and the RIGHT to defining the sacred and divine in a more fulfilling way. The process I have thus described is my reasoning. I am not attempting to impose my beliefs – what I share here is mine and mine alone, and if you cannot accept how I think, or if I don’t fit into your definition of what a Rastafari person is or someone who identifies with Rastafari, that is fine as well.

Bless all the same.
