In Response To: Re: THE BOOK OF THE DEAD DOES NOT CLAIM THE LINE O (three_sixty)

the titles king of kings, and lord of lords can be found in the Book of Coming Forth By Day and in the Nile Valley tradition these titles are applied to rulers - I sight Haile Selassie continuing this tradition from antiquity which is far more ancient than the biblical co-optation of these titles. Do I know whether David and Solomon were real - no. Do I question their existance based on what I have found about the historical accuracy of the bible vs. what is allegory and legend – yes.

I do not fall into the line of thinking though that there is a contradiction here though. The titles such as king of kings, lord of lords were applied to the characters in the Book of Coming Forth By Day – such as Osiris – and then applied to the physical living rulers of the lands who was invested with these powers through the invocation of the names. I think if there is an overstanding of that point then the titles of Haile Selassie comes into a new context. The dependence is not then on whether the characters in the bible are real or not because the whole context has changed to include lineages, cultural practices, etc. that are far far older. It is through this lense then that I sight Rastafari.

still you stray from the point, you don't know if king DAVID WAS real, YET AGAIN YOU PUT SOMETHING TO ME WHICH DOES NOT RELATE TO MY POST.
I WAS NOT TALKING ABOUT THE TITLE KING OF KINGS AND HOW MANY RULERS PAST OR PRESENT RECEIVED IT, SIMPLE YES OR NO DOES THE EMPEROR CLAIM A MYTHICAL LINEAGE YOU KEEP GOING AROUND THE QUESTION EITHER DAVID AND SOLOMON ARE REAL OR THEY ARE NOT.

BY YOUR ANSWER YOU ARE NOT SURE AND THE PHYSICAL MANIFESTATION OF THE EMPEROR IS NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU, TO VALIDATE IF KING SOLOMON AND KING DAVID WERE REAL.

SEEMS LIKE NO ONE CAN ANSWER THIS POST OR THEY ARE AFRAID TO,THE BOOK COMING FORTH BY DAY MAY WELL MENTION KING OF KINGS BUT STILL THIS IS NOT MY POINT.

THAT SAID CHECK AND COME AGAIN.

LOVE INTERNATIONAL BLACK LOVE.
