When I came to the Rastafari movement in the earlier days, the cause for which we struggled, was Africa for the Africans, those at home in Mama Africa, and those abroad who are living in captivity in the African Diaspora. Repatriation was our main focus, and for this we used to shout aloud in the streets, as we go about our business of teaching our people, about their African heritage and ancient glory. Reparations, Compensations, and true Liberation, were to be, and still is to be put into practice, by they who committed the crimes of human bondage, and slave trading activities, against African people everywhere. According to what we taught, all the Nations of Europe, were supposed to pay all the expenses, for our Repatriation, back to Mama Africa, so that we all could be restored to our ancient dignity, legacy, heritage and cultural integrity.
As it relates to what we should bring to the table of unity, African people must first be happy and be satisfied, that they were created as African people, and then they should come to the table as African people totally, Not as Nigerians, not as Liberians , not as Gambians, not as Kenyans etc, not as Tribalist with Tribalism intentions, which is a formula for tribal wars, come to the table of unity as Africans at home and abroad. We should then reason with honesty, and create that atmosphere which can help us to achieve true African consciousness, and then true liberation, and the United States of Africa for African people everywhere. We need that State of mental consciousness, which will help us to remove all those borderlines across Mama Africa, and make Mama Africa become one Africa for Africans in the East, West, North and South.
