I do think there is a difference between faith and belief. Concerning faith, in my opinion, one has a hope or an expectation that something will happen based on some form of prior knowledge or experience. Belief, in my opinion, is based off second or third hand information which may or may not be correct. For instance, I have faith that good will overcome evil. I have this faith based on the experiences I have had in my life concerning 'good' and 'evil'. So it is a form or knowledge. If I say that I believe that good will overcome evil, I am more than likely basing it off something other than direct experience.

I think it is good to have faith/hope as opposed to belief. Without faith/hope, we become cynical which prevents us from seeing the positive and good things in life.

When stuck in belief, we become confused and unable to discern truth from reality. We tend to live in a world of illusion preventing us from seeing life as it is.

With faith, I think experience plays a part. We must also realeyes that knowledge that is not first hand is not really knowledge. Knowledge without experience is just information.

So, in my opinion, knowledge and faith are more related than we tend to think.
