Well, black women have made tremendous sacrifices throughout world history, and that is why I don’t see why they have not been a solid foundation upon whom black men should stand. Sadly, it is many of our brothers who cannot see beyond themselves. There are numerous black Rastafarians males dating and breeding with white women, IMO that does not reflect black women have forgotten just how powerful and important they are in our tradition. No. It is just that even black Rastafarian men are falling into the propaganda trick, in light of the fact that the image of white women as the quintessential object of beauty is constantly being reinforced in our society. Period.
You said: “Tell me B.K. which male principle is governing Ras K's response.
That he can see no difference between copulating with white as opposed to black is evidence of a nuturing failure.”
I do believe that sisters have begun to fail their families for obvious reasons. Many factors play into this, brothas who show strong preference for the white woman and put down black women, being one of them and our families are suffering even more than they have began. I don't believe to put the responsibility on the sisters (mothers), because it is not only the grandmother, the sister, the aunt raising the child(ren).
You said: “ As Black women we are constantly at war with the media and the larger society for our voices to be heard, when all that is required is a whisper from the foot of the cradle. “
I agree with you there Karibkween.
You said: “ My teenage athlete/misician is constantly fighting off little opportunists, mostly white, if I have done my job right, and I think I have, no white woman will be the mother of my grandchildren.”
Well, let us pray that a natural, strong, and beautiful sister enters his life; it is up to the cosmic spirits and the ancestors.
