He stopped eating fish and other kinds of meat which discredited him among the so-called people and this made him thinner and folks felt alienated from him. He did this to make a point I think about the food of the earth.
By the way, I don't know which "rasta" diet you refer to because many Nyabinghi rastas follow different diets. While some eat dairy products because they are so common in everyday store bought foods like cookies and ice cream others will eat fish and chicken or eggs. And the Bobos and 12 Tribes and some others are not vegans. Ital does not mean vegan or even lacto ovo vegetarian. I would like for you to clarify what you mean. I have not met any rastas who were complete vegans because you'd have to eat all organic and no fish or seafood except sea vegies and no meats no eggs and no dairy. I say organic because non organic or conventionally grown food is often fertilized with animal or human waste.
