Rastafari is the new name for an age old movement ,that seeks the liberation and and the full expression of all afican people . Throughout centuries it has had many names each an expression tied to its purpose .
This energy now called rastafari ,with it threefold mission . Has accomplish one of its great mission , the reuniting of Africa with her stolen children- this entails the knowledge of our history , the love of ourselves and things african .
Now we as rasta must let go of mental chains ,which is rastafari second great mission . It is at this crucial junction we now stand , as the dilemma we face is one which shall decide wether rastafari will become a religion filled with dogmas , myth, faith and ritual or remain a dynamic force for cultural change and expression . Should rasta become a religion , it is my opinion that it has failed in its great mission- we must if we are to avoid this fate divest ourselves of our judeo/christian underpinnings .
Let us not make of any man a God among men , for all man is God , for all must play his part ,and non is less than the other . Only the degree to which you have sucessfully perform your allotted task , is you work of merit . The bible can not replace wisdom ,nor impart wisdom only righteous action in the stuggle for true liberation can deliver that . Through action the true spirit of rasta comes forth ,for in the pursiut of action one must reason with others . REASONING is the first tenet of rasta ,and it is in danger of being replace by faith and dogma .REASONING is sharing , teaching ,learning and most important a sure way to contact the spirit which resides within us all .
As to question of the european in the struggle , we are one human race , any who say to the contrary ,is preaching a false construct . We have not forgotten why we are here in babylon , we are here because some would and have use this false costruct to divide humanity so as to oppress all of humanity , some moreso than others . Neither must we forget that there have been european who have shed their own blood for our freedom in this struggle , as well as some african who has work hard to sell us into bondage . None can know the thoughts or mind of another but, through REASONING and ACTIONS one can arrive at a reasonable assesment of motive and intention .
