Re: Rasta use of the bible

In Response To: Rasta use of the bible (Jah Melku)

Well not all Rastas see the bible as a holy book. Many Rastas have grasped history well enough to understand how the bible and Christianity developed and how it has been used to pacify, and mentally and physically subjugate Africans across the globe. Despite the fragments of truth within it, it is out of context, which renders many concepts bogus. It is full of contradictons and reinforces the suppression of the female principle that has been so central in the development of African cilivilzation. The concept of one all powerful male God is alien to the essence of African culture and only serves to limit the potential of African females......and males.

The bible also implicitly encouragesAfricans to run away from their indentity and be passive and timid in the face of oppression. No wonder Whites throughout history and even on this board have been so persistent in trying to get Blacks to accept the bible as their guiding light. With this done, Blacks are more likely to ignore the essence of history as well as be oblivious to the patterns of European domination.

It is the conditioning that makes many ignore and be in denial of the development of Christianity/the bible including the Nicean conference, the African origins of Christianity, the borrowed Christian concepts, and the mountains of evidence that support such.
