Rasta use of the bible

Why is it we as Rasta still use the bible as our holy book? We have knowledge of the history of the bible and its shortcomings. e.g We know that the 10 commandments come from the principles of MA'AT. We know that the world has existed for more than 6000 years. A lot of us even accept that Yeshua was probably married. Why is it we turn to this book to state our beliefs? This book was used to enslave our ancestors. Some of the authors in the book we knew had issues, Paul for instance was a mesogynist, yet we still call this book the literal word of God? And so what if Selassie was a Christian? Is it the man Yeshua that we look to for salvation, or is it the principles he embodied? I personally think Selassie was speaking more of the KRST principles than he was of the man. What say you Idrens...why do we still use the bible as a cornerstone, as opposed to just a possible guideline?

Peace And Love,
Jah Melku
