Patriarchy is indigenous to Africa , but it is different from the european form . For several reasons of which we will only address those that are most influencial . Fisrt let me remind all of two important pyschological truism .
A HUNGRY MAN IS A ANGRY MAN(man here is used in its generic form)
DESPERATION BREEDS DEPRAVITY
In Africa , thru-out history the matriachical civilization held sway . This in no ways means that a woman has to always head the governments ,what it does mean is that women play integral part in all functions of the civilization . What is also important to remember that the gender base oppression that is a part of paternal civilization is absent here . So social mobility was not constructed arround ones gender , but more so on maternal family lineage . Why was this so , is not exactly known but climate is believe to be a major factor .
A tropical climate gave maternal base civilization the edge they needed to thrive , in a hostile world . With animals being relatively plentiful year round , the men had little reason to travel far or for extended periods . Fertile land being everywhere made cultivation a real compettitor and a viable alternative to the dangerous job of hunting .
Apparently the blending of the two cultures , paternal and maternal was not as acrimonious as elsewhere on the globe . Which left us with a situation where women ran the the internal affairs , and men ran the external affairs , hence the reason why most ancient African states were ran by Kings but the king was chosen by the women , thru his maternal birthright ,and the legitimacy of his rules depends on his Queen .
Not so in other parts of the world , the king is chosen by men and is legitimetize by his birth thru his paternal ancestry . This is so because of the life ,geography and history of the people who make up the paternal civilization .In europe the law of survival is strick ,God the father wants first and foremost your obedience , this is best ensured thru fear not love .Rules are made to ensure obedience and survival of the group (the whole is more than the sum of the parts ). Whereas in africa shelter fire and clothing is a luxury , in europe it is a necessity for 6 months of out of every year .Without these three essential no one in europe lives past a year . In the cold months of winter in europe, the old and the young past away and the fit and the strong grow sick and weary . The vegetation is covered(no gathering for the women) and the animals who are still in tune with nature has travelled far , without fire meat turns to stone .
It is out of this harsh environment that the barbarism you speak of is spawn ,for it really is a survival mechanism . Without strick adherants to the rules of Rule a whole village can die out in one winter . Love is patient and forgiving , but winter respect no one who is ill-prepared , so it is with God the father OBEY THOU ME ,only fear can deliver that as a guarantee . Which means rule breakers are punished , not forgiven .
Mother God rules thru love and tolerance ,father God rules thru obedience and fear . Necessity is the mother of invention ,and so the hungry and desperate winterbound man creates a god in his image-angry and deprave
