Yes I do - and this is not the be all, end all of the Ethiopian story. It is more a story of a nation taking on the identity of a new religion -
sometimes nations do this to fit in with the political, economic landscape of the time - and Abyssinia(Ethiopia) is not immune to this.But do you think that the Ethiopian priests and Ethiopian monarchy did not retain the old ways? They did - but they are veiled under the guise of the new religion(Christianity) - check the Ethiopian Book of Life for an example of this.
Nothing new under JAH sun bredren.
If this is shocking to you - that is fine - I don't deal with the literalization of these texts as the be all of my trod in Rastafari. Rasta is a function of the heart - these texts should serve to find that which is present within I and I - if I CON-tinue to worship these texts as historical facts while other research can prove different, I am doing a disservice to my inner calling to truth.
