If one were to call themselves 'Rasta', it would seem that one would live according to the name of their chosen godhead, Ras Tafari. Rastafari was and is based within the Judeo-Christian context (an African Awareness based within this context), and so therefore it seems to be anti-Ras Tafari to change it up to suit their own wants. It is like they like what they see in the Rasta Movement, but when it comes down to the basics, they do not like the Bible, or Christ, or any of that and would rather change Rasta to make it more comfortable for them. Same thing happened to Christianity...it was taken entirely out of its Judaic environment to suit the intellectual need of Roman and Alexandrian pagans...I see this happeneing to Rasta, especially with the Khemetic-thinking Rastas.
This is only my opinion, and am putting forth my reasonings with the most honest of intentions based on what I see and hear.
