The Exhibit Was Suppose To Focus On HisMajesty
In Response To: Re: Smithsonian Exhibit ()

Although I have written my opinions concerning the Exhibit, I have not been able to see what it look like to date, since on the night of the opening of the exhibition, I was very busy meeting brothers and Sisters whom I have not met before and others who I have not seen for so many years. By the time I was finish doing all of that the exhibit was close for the night, therefore I and some others did not getc to see it. However, as a Rastafari person who have been a humble student in this movement for more than 50 years, I really do not have to see the exhibit symbolically, in order to know what the lives of Rastafari People is all about. I think that an exhibit, is a symbolic instrument of learning, which is put on display, to give people an idea of what a given subject is all about, and to help to remove the inaccuracies concerning the related subject and its relationship to others, the Artist the people etc. There was an agreement that the exhibition was to be focus on the teachings of His Majesty, but now there are so many experts and critics of the exhibit, that there is hardly any chance to focus on the teachings of His Majesty, instead there is just a great cultivation of resistance and contention being mutiplied. My own recommendation to all the critics and those who are trying to multiply contention, is to go and read and Iverstand the Autobiograghy of His Imperial Majesty book one and book two, and that may be able to clear the minds of our people, for to condemn the exhibit is to condemn the teachings of His Majesty.

In relation to that mission to Mama Africa in the yearc 1961, it is to be understood, that that mission was a an Official Government Mission having only three Rastafari people on it, Douglas Mack and Philmore Alvaranga, and only dreadlock on the Mission at that time was Mortimer Planner. The others who were on that mission were Dr. L .C Leslie who was Mayor of Spanish Town St. Catherine Jamaica at that time, he was the leader and adviser of the mission, Mr. V. S. Reid, Co-Adviser, Hon. E.H.Lake Minister of Social Welfare in Antigua, Dr.B.M Douglas, Mr Munroe Scarlet of the Afro West Indian Welfare League, W. Blackwood from the UNIA, and Cecil Gordon from the Ethiopian World Federation. At the time when the mission was sent, there was much tention in Jamaica concerning the brutal treatment of Rastafari people and at the recomendation of the University of the West Indies, the mission was sent to investigate the possiblity of migration, not Repatriation, considering that Repatriation is really an International matter, which would have to involved all the Countries in Europe which participated in slave trading activities. So the mission went and returned and the Government of the day changed and that was the end of the matter.
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African people everywhere
