Hail Icall
If yu following Leviticus, wouldn't you be sacrificing animals and executing adulterers and gays, not to mention refusing to wear mixed fibers? (Maybe you do some of these things but I know you don't do the first as you're a committed vegan).
I don't think either man or woman should be the exclusive "leader." I don't think males have anything intrinsic in them that makes them better suited to "guide the family in the right direction" than females. If anything I feel like on the whole I've had better guidance in my life from females than from males.
I say JAH is the only "head" and JAH live in all of IanI, male or female.
I most definitely don't come to fight against the ancient elders. But they are man and woman too, just like IanI, and not infallible.
They went against THEIR elders, as the whole Youth Black Faith was in part a reaction against certain doctrines and practices of the original Rasta patriarchs like Hibbert, etc. From my understanding anyway. It come from books so it could well be wrong, but that's what I gather.
You ever read the book by Ikael Tafari who you say was Bongo Wato best friend? If you check it (it's a hefty read, takes a while) you'll see he's not advocating that ones should necessarily follow the elders in EVERYTHING. He's acknowledging that times, people, ideologies all change, and there's nothing wrong and everything right with that, once the ESSENCE is not lost.
Ones could now argue about what is the essential and what is subject to modification.
To I the total, absolute equality of the sexes is a truth and reality that all need to acknowledge and deal with.
