From Iman point of view the Divine is without beginning and without end. In this case as stated be Eja He/She would be the 0. the universe is only a speck compared to the One true divine where it expresses itself through its creation. For example the Magen David is an esoteric symbol of the Divine One in perfect union of Male and Female energies being intertwined into one bursting into six directions. S/He is not self created nor created but self existing and self sufficent without beginning or end. In this sense the Supreme being is One complete unity but able to express His/Herself into multiple entities be it the expressions of sun moon and stars the expressions of nature. From personal experience my great grandmother who is an African Jew lived her life in accordance to nature living as one with it(she was a country woman) for she knew that Jah wanted that from the beginning of our existance. She lived by Torah and Passed away by Torah so I cannot agree with your view because I grow up with her teachings of Torah and nature which was important for her to calculate the time month and seasonal solstices and equinox for observence of holidays and months to sow and reap.
