I do not understand why one would think there is no Jah/God in the midst of death. Death is a cyclical part of life and is something all of creation must experience whenever the time is up. No one is gauranteed old age. People from all over the spectrum of life die in all stages for whatever reasons. I do not think it imperative to know why...just that it is, and the mystery remains in the hands of a greater force to decide when, where and how. Why rack the brain and create unnecessary angst over something that is seemingly beyond human comprehension?

People become a part of our lives for however long. And even though some are "physically" alive.. that still, does not mean they will remain an integral part of our lives. People come and go...for such is the way things are. In some instances, we are fortunate enough to meet certain ones who infuse their spiritual essence within us, who in life and/or death leave their indelable imprint/mark on us, transcending the temporary physical connection into an eternal font of inspiration. Give thanks...hopefully, one can become a better person because of how they touched our lives.

In many indigenous cultures death is a celebration of "transition" where great preparation and thoughtful attention is given to this necessary and natural process. In many instances, death was/is viewed as a continuum...ie a part of a connected thread that joins one realm into the other by way of one's relationship to their ancestors. Death in essence, offered more spiritual resources by way of the ancestor in that they were no longer "bound" by human/physical limitations but who had now gained greater access by transitioning into the supernatural/spiritual realm of which could now be extended amongst the living.

The west, in contrast, has a great FEAR of death and thus has infused a great amount of negative associations with it..often leaving ones with a great sense of loss, emotional pain, grief, guilt and despair. As if forever cut-off from the dearly departed, it seems to view death as a final exit from life with a very ambiguous interpretation of the afterlife.
