Yes, it would sound like that to a Westerner. Basically, if you write the Shona word for what is translated in English as "Lord" in reference to the deity in Hebrew characters, you find yourself writing the Hebrew for The Name. In fact, a lot of words when written in Hebrew letters have the same meaning as in that language.

Not just Hebrew, but even a lot of the extinct Middle-Eastern languages. The ancient King Hamurabbi's name for example means exactly in Akkadian what it means in Shona.

What does this mean? It means that Africans have more in common culturally and historically with the lands of the Bible- including the ones actually outside Africa-than has been taught by the missionaries. Perhaps this is why we took to Christianity and Islam in a big way, these were religions we already had.
