What gives the pope the authority to say such things about Islam and the prophet Mohammend, no matter how much he tries to hide behind the quote of another?

I think he needs to take the beam out his own eye before criticizing others.

What happened to respecting other people's faith? I would expect more wisdom from a man who is supposed to be the "Vicar of Christ."

I dont know the numbers but I would bet that historically, many more people have been persecuted and murdered by the sword in the name of Christianity than Islam.

But maybe I am wrong.
