Re: RAP/HIP-HOP WAS TRANSFERRED FROM JAMAICA TO TH

This is true about Hip hop starting NY amongst the Jamaican dancehall djs.

It is also true that NWA, in the early 90's, started (or should I say, made it popular/cool) the glamorization of guns, violence, and misogyny of women in hip hop music.

Before then, Hip hop was starting to become more of a conscious art form. People like X-clan, Poor righteous teachers, Def jeff, Native tongues (De La soul, Jungle brothers, tribe called quest, leaders of the new school) were on a more conscious vibe. And of course people like KRS and Public Ememy before them.

From the 90's till the present, hip hop has been used as a weapon against us in my opinion.
