Like you, I believe that the Sphinx is much older than Europeans will admit. The erosion of its base by water, speaks to a time when the Delta (lower Egypt) was not completely solid ground and the Gizeh plateau stood above the marsh on one side with the hills of Sinai on the other. The Sphinx was an announcement to visitors to the continent that they were entering the land of the Blacks.
Diop says the first men of caucasian persuasion to come into contact with continental Africans were Cro-Magnons who came from Spain/Portugal via the Atlantic. Herodotus tells us that lower Egypt was flooded all the way to Waset/Thebes around the time Europeans claimed Homer lived. Yet the theory that Lower Egypt was populated and civilized from central Asia still persists.
