Re: Seventh Annual Orisa Rain Festival

The final events of the Rain Festival are now concluding.

It is good to see there are many Rastafarians who have no conflict in dealing with Haile Selassie as a symbol of their shift from a Judeo-Christian religion to more indigenous African practices. So today when we speak of Rastafarians, we are speaking of a whole range of people than just those who Christianized Haile Selassie as the Almighty, and those who fashion their own concepts of religion. The fact is there are also Rastafarians who grasp traditional African religions and are entrenched there, and that is a good thing.
