Seen, I agree with that in a general sense, although it calls up the question, what does "following" mean?
I do think that different people have different definitions of "leadership", though. I think some tend to use it synonymously with "rulership."
Perhaps different ideas of what "leadership" means, could be at the root of some of the disagreements about who is best "qualified" to "lead", that are occurring on this board.
Anyway it's time for me to go to bed. So I'll post my own views on what constitutes "leadership" some time tomorrow or something, when I've slept on them.
But briefly, if leadership is taken to mean a form of "authority", then that "authority" should come from being "an authority" on something - eg. the most experienced and proficient stonemason being the leader of the stone-masonry work crew. This would not mean that the other stone-masons would have to act subserviently to the stone-mason leader, or defer to his/her authority in any other aspect of life other than the stone-masonry job they're working on.
