The issue of skin bleaching was dealt with at Ghana Forum and it was shocking to notice that skin bleaching is a major problem in nations like Japan where the yellowish-brown complexion is seen as not worthy and where Black skin and Black Gods were worshipped in ancient times.
Yet, with the introduction of European racism in Japan and the Far East, the hatred for dark skin has spread.
The great irony is that the love for pale skin and blonde hair by Japanese and other Asians did not stop the Japanese from being defeated during World War II and it still does not stop the 'West' from not trusting any of the nations East of Iran.
Much of this distrust is based on religion (Asians seen as descendents of Canaan, and the 'Yellow Horde' constantly talked about in religious books and programs like those pushed by fundamentalist religious people and others.
