It was observed on a Japanese island that a few monkies took fruits to the seaside to wash off the sand, before eating them. After a hundred these inhabitants on this island adopted this measure before eating; all the monkies on the other islands adapted to washing their fruits by the seaside before eating their fruits. This accured by a sort of osmosis.
