Many cultures have an account of the Flood. The one in the Bible was taken from accounts in the libraries at Babylon during the time of Captivity.
Recently, evedince of Ante-Diluvan settlements were found in India ( "Hiddekel"). The area under the Red Sea also has evidence of settlements, this was where Eden was located.
Many of the peoples of the world can trace their genealogies to the three sons of Noah. In fact, recent archaeology and other scientific disciplines are confirming the accuracy of the Nations as they were listed in Genesis 10. For example the Book of Jasher places India under Ham. It is known today that India was originally inhabited by Africans. In my language, one of the words I have heard used by elders to describe Indians is JAPATI. I at first thought this was a derisve, maybe offensive word, but now I think it links to JAPHETH, ancestor of the Indo-Europeans.
We know today that the Chinese were originally a Black nation. And, sure enough, we have among the sons of Canaan the SINITES. While a branch of Canaanites settled in Palestine, we are told that "the families of the Canaanites were dispersed". Interestingly enough, the Chinese have a legendary figure named NUWA, who was responsible for replenishing the earth after a great calamity. Nuwa is sometimes depicted as a woman, but many scholars believe he was orginally a man.
I could go on, listing the evidence of the Biblical narrative from outside the Bible. It becomes clear then that the Flood did happen.
