Re: The 'charles taylor' gambit

The credibility nigeria has comes from the role it played in ending the wars in sierra leone and liberia. Hundreds of nigerians soldiers died in those wars. One of them was a classmate of mine. People who live in that region know what nigeria did, in spite of the wastern propaganda that would have the world believe that britain brought peace to sierra leone while amerikkka brought peace to liberia.

Although it is nowhere near perfect, many members of the nigerian armed forces gave thier lives for the relative peace that now exists in those two places. The situations in liberia and sierra leone are a lot better than they were before ECOMOG went in.

And, if like you imply, nigeria had no credibility, why would charles taylor have left liberia for nigeria? How many lives were saved by his leaving at the time he did?

Now, since there is nothing I stated above that a well-informed person like yourself should not already know, I would ask you to bring foward what you know that makes you think nigeria has no credibility in African affairs. What information (or direct knowledge) is this opinion based on?
